Rex's Books

Age is simply a number for Burnie's Rex Blackwell who is proud to be releasing his first books at 83 years of age.
He is going against the grain releasing seven novels written over three years.

"I got busy and wrote and wrote, so I decided I had to stop and publish them. It has been good fun," he said.
"I did seven books, and thought I should stop and see if anyone is interested. You have no idea until you test the market and when the first review comes in, and is positive, that is very encouraging."

You can purchase Rex's books from Amazon and Kindle, or by contacting him directly.

About Rex

Rex was born two years before World War II started. That's a while ago. He's had a lot of opportunities to gain experience in a whole bunch of stuff. And used them well. At the age of 19, he returned home from a trip around the globe, most of it by ship, but a large slice of Europe was included by "auto stop". (Hitch hiking.) If one mentions Scotland, Norway, Gibraltar, and Switzerland, it will avoid a long list of countries visited.

He had a variety of jobs during his life and was helped by a prominent Australian Prime Minister who declared TAFE education to be free, and he (the PM) then stuffed the Australian economy. As a result, Rex moved from agricultural interests to qualifying in accounting, working in a variety of industries. He had qualified as an accountant but picked a couple of dud companies who went broke, among others who didn't.

He has a wife and three kids, plus grand kids.

He now lives in Burnie, Tasmania, and used to like gardening before his muscle strength ran out, when he turned to book writing. Nobody told him to stop, which is why he wrote seven before deciding to publish. He's 85 in case you hadn't worked it out.

He's lived and worked in Queensland's Gold Coast, Singapore and on Tasmania's West Coast. He plays several musical instruments and built ten harps. (And sold most of them). He's a prize-winning chess player (back in the days of old.) And that's not all, but enough for now.
